The Chazay museum offers one main theme focusing on the medieval period and the lordship of the abbots of Ainay.
It is also an opportunity to hear about the legend of the baboon and to discover various artifacts and attractions such as armour, chain mail, helmets and medieval weapons used at the time of Bayart. You will be able to discover the frescoes and see a video clip on the legend of the Baboin If you go up to the watchtower, you will find two rooms on the first floor with canvases, the painting of Chazay d'Azergues in the Middle Ages, reliquaries, a stone cross from the 12th century, a Leduc bronze, gargoyles, oratory instruments and the belfry clock from the 17th century. The coats of arms of the abbots of Ainay, old tools, vanished trades, metal pushers, vine tools, kettle to treat the vine (invention of Benoit Raclet), models of medieval Chazay and modern-day Chazay, and a video on the village of Chazay (before and after).
