Situated on the Beaujolais wine route, only 50 minutes north of Lyon, Beaujeu, the historical capital of the Beaujolais region, welcomes you.

By giving its name to the country and its Beaujolais appellation, this small Beaujolais town is proving to be a historical landmark that cannot be overlooked.

You can visit the beautiful Romanesque church of St-Nicolas founded in the Middle Ages by the lords of Beaujeu. You can also visit the Renaissance half-timbered house and galleries, the Hôtel de la Tour and finish with visiting the Hospices, a prominent monument in Beaujeu.
Visit the village square to sample some Beaujolais souvenir gifts and local products by stopping at the Maison du Terroir Beaujolais.

Feel free to enter the Maison's museographic exhibition where you will learn about the traditions of Beaujolais, the richness of the Beaujolais land, the flavours and dishes that are typical of the region and the personalities that have influenced its history.
It's hard to think of Beaujeu without imagining yourself singing the countdown "3, 2, 1: The Beaujolais Nouveau is here!" It's midnight on the 3rd Thursday of November, the Sarmentelles are in full swing and Beaujeu is vibrating with a unique euphoria in the world on this one night!
